The Statement of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Mr Pavolos Yeroulanos (released 30th of June).
“Greece is turning page towards financial stability and growth. In this effort, an austerity plan was voted by Greek Parliament yesterday resulting to temporary demonstration and disruptions in the center of the city of Athens.
These events, altough unfortunate, were local and do not represent in any way everyday life in the city. Visitors in Athens continue to enjoy secure and tranquil environment and a very vibrant cultural experience.
All modes of transportation, all culture and sport venues and aspects of life have returned to normality and visitors can enjoy the experience they planned for.
No other city of location in Greece was affected by these disruptions.”
